MALAYSIAN INVESTMENT DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY (MIDA)
MIDA is the principal Government agency for the promotion and coordination of investment in the manufacturing and services sectors In Malaysia. MIDA provides advisory services and assistance to companies in the implementation and operation of their projects. MIDA also facilitates business collaboration between foreign and Malaysian investors. In 2010, MIDA has been empowered by the Government with the necessary authority to negotiate directly with investors for targeted projects MIDA has also been designated as the central investment promotion agency for the manufacturing and services sectors to enhance the coordination and cohesion among the various investment promotion bodies in the country. The National Committee on Investment (NCI) has been established in MIDA to evaluate and decide applications received for manufacturing license, incentives and expatriate posts, among others.

THE EAST COAST ECONOMIC REGION DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL
The East Coast Economic Region Development Council (ECERDC) is a statutory body established under an Act of Parliament to drive the implementation projects and key programmes identified in the East Coast Economic Region (ECER) of Malaysia’s Master Plan. ECERDC is chaired by the Prime of Minister of Malaysia, Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak, with members comprising the Chief Ministers of the ECER states, high-level Federal and State Government officials, and representatives from the private sector.
SCORE is a major initiative and aimed at accelerating economic growth and development of the central region of Sarawak, the largest state in Malaysia. It covers an area of approximately 70,700 square kilometers in the central region of Sarawak with population of 862,100 people or 36% of the State population. SCORE has advantages in terms of its energy resources specifically the 28,000 MW of hydropower. The core
element of the SCORE plan is to accelerate the development of these energy resources. This will allow Sarawak to price its power competitively and attract investments in heavy energy-intensive industries. SCORE aims to drive economic growth by developing new industrial activities and expanding existing industrial activities in areas where the central region has a comparative advantage.
Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), was established in March 1993 as the external trade promotion arm of Malaysia’s Ministry of International Trade Industry (MITI). MATRADE functions as a focal point for Malaysian exporters and foreign importers to source for trade related information. MATRADE functions are: To promote, assist and develop Malaysia’s external trade with particular emphasis on the export of manufactured and semi-manufactured products and services; To formulate and implement export marketing strategy and trade promotion activities to promote Malaysia’s export; To undertake commercial intelligence and market research and create a comprehensive database of information for the improvement and development of Malaysia’s trade; To organise training programmes to improve the international marketing skills of Malaysian exporters; To enhance and protect Malaysia’s international trade investment abroad; and To promote, facilitate and assist in services areas related to trade.
