Integrating itself into Facebook, Avalable is a social dating app for iOS and Android operating systems. The app allows people to meet and get to know each other through chatting capabilities as well as the ability to follow one another’s Facebook timelines. Using GPS features on smartphones, Avalable helps single out singles by matching their compatibilities all within their own vicinities. Compatibility percentages are circled around potential partners as they are displayed like scattered beacons on the map of your area. The app itself will send compatible matches to users based off compatibility scores that are determined through personality equations, using Facebook interests as an algorithm to bring users together and allowing the option of factoring in friends of friends on Facebook.

“Avalable is not a hook-up app. It’s more like a community, with a slowed down pace. People get to know each other better through what they share on their timeline. So it’s basically a community to support singles,” says Nikki Assavathron, the founder of the app.

To date, the app has been downloaded 40,000 times and claims an active user base of 30,000 per month. After the well-received feedback and demand, Avalable will launch version 2.0 of the app at the end of September with more features and a better design.

The new update will use a graph database (similar to Facebook’s social graph) that the developing team claims will make matches 1,000 times faster. In addition, users will be able to play casual multiplayer games with other singles while they talk and flirt with one another.

After the update, the team plans to expand the availability of Avalable to Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia, with an eye on China.

Avalable forecasts an estimated 30 to 50 million active users in Asia within three years.
