HONG KONG, CHINA - MAY 12, 2014: Malaysian Airline crew membersTroubled national carrier will begin the process of sacking its entire workforce via termination letters, to be sent out this Wednesday. The airliner will set a record in Malaysia by firing the most number of people in a single day.

The final strategy after many years of management ineptness will be to fire its entire workforce of 20,000 and rehire approximately two-thirds under new contracts and with additional roles, the only employee being spared this ignominy will be it’s Chief Executive Christoph Mueller.

Malaysia Airlines (MAS) as it is known will be shutdown under the stewardship of administrator Datuk Mohammed Faiz Azmi, executive chairman of PricewaterhouseCoopers. Upon signing the letters for termination he will begin the process of transferring assets and liabilities to MAS Bhd that will take on the re-hired employees many of them on unsecured short-term contracts.

The airliner had been in significant trouble prior to the tragedies of MH370 and struck down MH17, with management re-structuring in 2011, and re-marketing campaigns in 2012-13 equally ineffective and only increasing in debt each passing quarter.

The new focus will be regional rather than international and will involve the ‘retained’ employees either working on newly structured contracts, or reporting to a hastily setup Corporate Development Centre (CDC) on June 1st for retraining or outplacement.
