Malaysia provides more support and transparency for FDI

Malaysia’s International Trade and Industry Minister, Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed, announced that the government is committed to providing support and transparency for foreign investors.  Many investors have complained about obstacles to successful business or investment opportunities, so this move comes as attempt to placate these problems and stimulate investments.

Malaysia is in the process of kicking off its Economic Transition Programme, with the goal of bringing developed-nation status to the country by 2020.  Obviously, increasing direct foreign investment is crucial to ushering Malaysia into the global economy.  Several “Entry Point Projects,” including a rapid transit system, have already begun.
