Myanmar plans tech innovation center

The TISC will also help innovators and researchers in developing countries to promote information technology-related works, create, protect and manage intellectual property rights, said Ba Shwe, deputy minister for Myanmar’s Ministry of Science and Technology.

The center will be developed in cooperation with the World Intellectual Property Organisation.

The Myanmar hamber of Commerce and Industry will also launch a Myanmar Intellectual Property Association ahead of the expected passage of an intellectual property law. A strong IP law would be important for improving Myanmar’s business climate, the chamber said.
