The Philippine government expects to roll out six more public-private partnership (PPP) projects this year, Interaksyon reported. PPP Center executive director Cosette Canilao said the center will roll out two projects while four more are up for approval by the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Board.

Projects subject for NEDA Board’s approval in its next meeting include operations and maintenance of the Laguindingan airport, the Enhanced operations and maintenance of the new Bohol airport, the operations and maintenance of Light Rail Transit Line 2 and the New Centennial Water Supply Source Project.

Ten huge companies have expressed interest in the auction of the 2.5-billion peso ($55 million) Integrated Transport System-South Terminal Project. The Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System is yet to publish the invitation to prequalify and bid for the P24.4-billion ($542 million) Bulacan Bulk Water Supply Project.

“Investors’ interest is high, we need to award right away some of the projects that we already bidded out,” Canilao said. She also bared that there are about 11 more projects in the advanced stages of feasibility study completion, adding that she was optimistic that projects deal flows are fast tracked this year, barring any issue that might arise from the external factor.

“We have already done all the streamlining [measures] on the government side. So it is more of really just doing these and rolling out the projects,” she said.

Six PPP deals have been already awarded: the DaangHari – South Luzon Expressway Link Road, the PPP for School Infrastructure Project (Phase 1), the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Expressway Project, the PPP for School Infrastructure Project (Phase II), the Modernization of the Philippine Orthopedic Center and the Automatic Fare Collection System
