Affin Fund Management launches Shariah funds

Malaysia-based Affin Fund Management Berhad on January 30 introduced three new funds with an agenda to surpass the 3 billion ringgit (approx $1 billion) mark in 2013, the company said in a release

The three new funds are the Affin 2-iWholesale Fund, 3-iWholesale Fund and the 4-iWholesale Fund, creating an additional 1.5 billion ringgit to AFMB’s current 1.93 billion ringgit in assets under management registered as at December 31, 2012.

All the three new funds which went on sale in a soft launch earlier this month, are Shariah-compliant.

Affin Fund Management Berhad, a licensed fund manager under Malaysia’s Capital Markets and Services Act 2007, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Affin Investment Bank Berhad. The Affin group offers financial services ranging from commercial and investment banking, general and life insurance, stock and money broking, insurance broking, fund and unit trust management.
