Apple to launch cloud for iTunes

Apple to launch cloud for iTunesApple has recently moved forward in their effort to provide iTunes through a cloud, allowing one to synch his iPod, iPhone, and computer through the same account. This would allow users to keep their music library online, and stream content to whichever device they so choose, which is dramatically different from iTunes’ main method of music distribution – that it must stay in one library.

Apple is currently negotiating with the major record labels, and has 3 of the 4 on board – Sony, EMI, and Warner.  They hope to get Universal on board in order to launch their complete library of songs.  Google and Amazon are also both experimenting with cloud management technologies for music, but were unable to ink deals with the record labels.
