ASEAN’s most punctual airline: Thai AirAsia

Air asia flight attendant FlightStats, a US-based flight and airport information service provider, has recently released its May 2013 Airline and Airport On-time Performance Report which determines the most punctual airlines in the world per region.

For ASEAN, the report shows that the most punctual airline in the region is Thai AirAsia, which is also the second most on-time airline on the entire Asian continent after Japan’s J-Air (see list and graphic below).

Worldwide, the three most punctual airlines are Finnair, South African and Gulf Air.

Best on-time airlines in Asia, May 2013 (Percentage of flights being at the gate on time):

1. J-Air    97.24%
2. Thai AirAsia    96.08%
3. Japan Transocean    95.47%
4. Hokkaido    94.48%
5. Japan Air Commuter    94.04%
6. ANA Wings    93.96%
7. Air Busan    93.24%
8. JAL Express    91.58%
9. ANA    91.29%
10. IndiGo    90.09%
