With its slew of captivating “designer” residential spaces, Batulao Artscapes is fulfilling its vision of being a ‘livable art park’. We take a look at the personalities behind these creative homes.

Award-Winning Design Comes To Batulao

Batulao Artscapes is the first real estate project in the Philippines that combines avant-garde designer homes with an art park, museums, and leisure facilities.

These elements form an “artventure community”. It’s not only located in a beautifully landscaped surrounding but is modelled to enrich the resident’s lives – physically, intellectually, and even spiritually.

Award-Winning Design Comes To Batulao

Century Properties, in tandem with Revolution Precrafted, is building limited-edition, precrafted spaces in the heart of Batulao, Batangas. Each is uniquely designed by the finest minds in architecture and design, both in the Philippines and abroad.

4 particular local designers and architects have been tapped to design its first wave of stunning homes.

Award-Winning Design Comes To Batulao

Eduardo Calma

Calma is a multi-awarded architect known for designing homes in premium communities in the Philippines. His design consists of two houses that mirror each other and, when viewed from afar, produce a polygonal structure of fractal patterns. These textures mimic those found in nature, like a turtle shell, snakeskin, or certain plant leaves. Overall, the structure is symmetrical and visually pleasant as it appears to seamlessly assimilate into its natural surroundings.

Kenneth Cobonpu

A multi-awarded furniture designer and manufacturer from Cebu, Cobonpue took charge of the Hedera dwellings in the Commune district. Nature is also his inspiration and the facades of his minimalist houses carry a natural evergreen plant cover to emphasize serenity. The organic effect of the outside plant cover is to cool the building and provide a natural air purifier. Its appearance is that of a lush “house forest” that breathes and grows over time.

Budji+Royal Architecture Design

Facet and Tranche are two design themes created by Budji+Royal Architecture Design, a Manila-based design studio founded by Budji Layug and Royal Pineda. They are known for their distinct, responsive design and practical construction using various sustainable, energy-efficient materials and innovative technologies.

The Facet houses provide numerous configuration variations. Design attachments allow a great degree of customization for owners and gives each home a distinct character. Tranche is similar but with even greater modularity. It comes in single livable family units that can be expanded horizontally and vertically according to one’s space requirements and financial resources.

International Designers

Batulao Artscape’s most distinguished village, named “Curated”, is a cluster of exclusive and individual homes designed by internationally acclaimed architects and designers. Among them are:

  • Daphne Guinness
  • Marcel Wanders
  • David Salle
  • Marmol Radziner & Kravitz Design
  • Philip Johnson Alan Ritchie Architects
  • Elizabeth de Portzamparc

The houses look more like collectibles than residences; their only common feature is their modularity. They are definitely a unique opportunity for buyers. It’s not often you get to live in a home designed by an award-winning international designer or architect.

Award-Winning Design Comes To Batulao

Particularly in the lush environment of Batulao Artscapes – which also features extensive public art facilities. Four museums, designed by Christian de Portzamparc (he of the LVMH Tower in New York) and Jean Nouvel (the man behind the Copenhagen Concert Hall and the Louvre Abu Dhabi), will bring Batulao Artscapes full circle.

Award-Winning Design Comes To Batulao

These, combined with the local and internationally designed homes that weave throughout the development, make Batulao Artscapes a truly mesmerizing destination. Whether you live for art or have mastered the art of living, there’s something for everyone at this incredible new lifestyle oasis.
