Brunei, Poland sign defense cooperation deal
Brunei and Poland signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in defence collaboration at the Brunei Darussalam International Defense Exhibition and Conference, or Bridex, which concluded on December 6.
The Brunei Ministry of Defense said that under the terms of the MoU the two countries will “explore potential defense procurement opportunities, which are certain to feature potential Bruneian purchases of Polish materiel.
The two countries also pledged to undertake joint training activities and military exchanges, and share information on military matters.
There is no record of previous direct defense trade between Brunei and Poland, although Polish capabilities in control and surveillance systems would be of interest to the sultanate, experts say.
