Brunei to boost economic ties with Kuwait

kuwait-towersAt a recent meeting of Kuwait’s Ambassador to Brunei Dr. Fahad Meshari Al-Dhafiri with Brunei’s Second Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Lim Jock Seng, both officials discussed to strengthen economic bilateral relations between both nations, Kuwait’s state news agency KUNA reported on January 8.

The Kuwaiti diplomat stressed the importance of boosting the economic, commercial and oil relations between Kuwait and Brunei, hailing the strong diplomatic ties, mutual trust and joint coordination between the two countries.

The Kuwait-Brunei Joint Committee (KBJC) headed by the ministers of financial in both countries is due to meet soon to hold its second session, Al-Dhafiri affirmed. The committee would discuss the most important projects and economic views, especially in the oil trade field, to best serve the interests of the two countries.

Seng recalled his latest visit to Kuwait, accompanying the Sultan of Brunei Darussalam, Hassan Al-Bolkiah, hailing the deep-rooted ties between both leaderships. He expressed satisfaction at country’s participation in the 1st Asia Cooperation Dialogue Summit, held in Kuwait in 2012.

He added that he would visit Kuwait during this year accompanied by a group of businessmen from Brunei for mutual expertise exchange. He welcomed holding the second session of the KBJC in Kuwait in 2014 to discuss the commercial and economic issues related to joint projects.
