The Acqua Private Residences make waterfront living stylish again

Down By The River

The Pasig River is 27 kilometers long and runs through the heart of Metro Manila, connecting Manila Bay at one end with Laguna de Bay on the other. It has 13 bridges and runs through four municipalities and five cities. Like most major waterways, it has facilitated the rise of people, culture and commerce. It has seen glory days, it has seen decline. And yet, it remains a beloved fixture of Metro Manila, its flow as constant as the urban life around it.

Indeed, Metro Manila’s urbanization is in full swing. People are leaving the countryside and suburbs for the city proper, trading in grass for glass, bungalows for balconies, clear skies for skyscrapers. As more work becomes available, more and more people arrive to make their mark. And so increases the demand for quality housing.

Real estate developers have responded by building condos that meet the clamor for new homes. But one developer is working hard not just to create new living space but a space to truly live, right along the riverbanks of the mighty Pasig River.

Water is Life

The Acqua Private Residences is nestled between the twin metropolises of Mandaluyong and Makati. Named after the Italian word for water, it sits along the Pasig River, its reflections shimmering on the historic waterway.

Down By The RiverNature-inspired walkways weave in and out of the development, culminating in the Riverwalk Promenade and a soon-to-be-finished central amenity called the Pebble, both of which overlook the waters. Inside, world-class design and concierge serve the residents. Two towers feature branded interiors by some of the world’s most famous design icons.

It’s an incredible and confident statement by a developer that’s certainly up to the task: Century Properties, whose famed projects include the Gramercy Residences and the Azure Urban Resort Residences (and its man-made beach). With Acqua’s emphasis on water, life, and design – plus its competitive pricing – Century has created a welcome sanctuary in the urban jungle. Not only that, but they’re making waterfront living stylish again.

The Great In and Outdoors

Acqua Private Residences is all about reinvigorating the urban lifestyle. Go for a morning jog along the Riverwalk Promenade. Enjoy coffee and the morning paper 50 floors up, overlooking the waters. Throw a dinner party with friends and marvel at the reach of the Pasig River as it winds its way through the panoramic city view.

If you’re more of an indoor person (or if it’s rainy season), stay inside your exquisite unit with a book and admire the lush outdoors through large windows. For those who live in the Livingstone or Iguazu towers, fashion-infused designs by MISSONIHOME and yoo inspired by Starck add extra quirk and attractiveness.

Waterfall Effect

The project consists of six residential blocks which each progressively increase in height, like waterfalls and cascading water. In fact, each tower (except the last) is named after a famous waterfall. Niagara is the first tower, followed by Sutherland, Dettifoss, Livingstone, and then Iguazu.

The overall effect is to highlight nature, even in the structure of the development. To create a sense of flow and natural ease. Acqua isn’t based on a random idea; its design is drawn from nature itself. This allows Acqua to compliment the adjacent river as well as stand strong in its surrounding environment as a unique and powerful piece of architecture.

Clubhouse by the Water

While all the towers command striking views of the Pasig River and the city skyline, the real action is down below. Looming large at the core of Acqua is The Pebble, a gleaming white central amenity flush with possibilities for sports and leisure activities.

As a clubhouse, The Pebble features a broad range of fitness and wellness facilities. This includes a lap pool, lagoon pool, basketball/tennis court, and juice bar. When it’s completed, three waterfalls will tumble down its exterior to the Riverwalk Promenade where residents and visitors can enjoy a leisurely time along the walkway. Much like Singapore’s Clarke Quay area, the promenade will feature some restaurants, cafes and stores opposite the peaceful river.

Designer Living, Living Design

Acqua is also home to two branded towers: Acqua Livingstone and Acqua Iguazu.

Livingstone’s interiors are designed by the iconic Italian fashion house MISSONIHOME, whose trademark vibrant colors and patterns endow the building with a playful and uplifting energy. These designs reach the “Canopy”, a split-level rooftop amenity with an amphitheater, dance floor, pool and more – all unique to Livingstone residents.

At the time of its launch, Acqua Livingstone was the first such residential tower of its kind. It is still the only MISSONIHOME-designed residential tower in all of Asia.

Acqua Iguazu is the tallest of the six towers. Its interiors are designed by yoo inspired by Starck, a design firm partnership between property developer John Hitchcox (best known for his loft adaptations in Manhattan) and renowned French designer Philippe Starck (whose wide range of work includes chairs, an iconic lemon squeezer, the presidential Elysee Palace, and the personal yacht of Steve Jobs).

Iguazu will rise to more than 50 floors with common areas all styled by yoo. This includes Iguazu’s crowning achievement the “Cielo”, a rooftop amenity that will feature its own waterfall, swimming pool, bar, dance floor, function room, library, and more – all styled with the inimitable grace and wit of Philippe Starck.

A Residential Hotel

The last tower to rise in Acqua is Novotel Suites Manila, a hybrid hotel-residential tower in partnership with world-renowned hotel chain ACCOR HOTELS.

Novotel Suites Manila is unique among the towers not only because of its hybrid offering but also because of its Century Fractional Ownership Program. By purchasing a share from Century Acqua Lifestyle Corporation at Novotel Suites Manila, you can enjoy customized luxury vacation stays, multiple vacation destinations worldwide, hassle-free property management, and a steady annual rental income.

Six towers. Various ownership options. One unique riverside vision. It’s little surprise that Acqua won the award for Best Residential Condominium in the Philippines at the Southeast Asia Property Awards 2016.

In The Clouds… But Within Reach

Acqua is a stone’s throw away from major shopping and corporate districts, schools, recreational centers, hotels and hospitals. The Estrella Panteleon and Makati-Mandaluyong bridges provide easy access to and from the development. River ferries also exist to connect residents and visitors.

Delivering on promises – An artists rendition compared to the actual photo

Two towers, Niagara and Sutherland, have been handed over to unit owners and have residents. Livingstone is also operational. The community is growing. Handover of the other residential towers will take place over the coming two years. Upon its completion in 2019, Acqua will undoubtedly be one of the most sought-after addresses in Manila.

Down By The River

Does this tap into your dream of a waterfront residence with all the conveniences of modern living? Acqua makes this possible. Whether you’re a wide-eyed believer in a greener future, or someone who simply wants to slow down, reconnect with nature, and live with flair, Acqua is the home for you.
