Dubai healthcare city authority formed
Dubai has recently announced a complete reorganization of its healthcare industry. The Dubai Healthcare City Authority (DHCA) will be charged with overseeing all activities within its realm, along with attracting and retaining medical professionals, research facilities, and pharmaceutical companies. Dubai hopes to mold itself into an international center for medical research and practice.
The DHCA will be headed by Princess Haya bint Al Hussein, and will comprise a 10-member board. The board will also be able to inspect all facilities within its area of authority to ensure high standards are being met. They will also coordinate collecting all fees for services performed and treatments received, though they will not be responsible for the debts of third party vendors or practitioners.
