Dubai Land Department promotes real estate courses for nationals
The Dubai Real Estate institute, (DREI), the educational arm of the Dubai Land Department (DLD), has announced that it is providing 50 scholarships for UAE nationals on its property courses. The organisation says that it has made the move in order to raise the level of real estate competence among young people in the market and to promote their engagement in the dynamic sector.
“DREI is providing 50 places on its real estate courses for UAE nationals. Successful qualification will enable graduates to enter Dubai’s property market and equip them with the skills to deal professionally and effectively with the various processes found in the evolving sector,” said HE Sultan Butti Bin Mejren, Director General of DLD .
“Our decision to provide these courses is entirely consistent with the strategic direction of DREI, whose core responsibilities include disseminating knowledge about Dubai’s real estate market and increasing the proportion of citizens working in the industry,” he added.
The opportunities being offered by DREI under the scheme include five scholarships for Real Estate Certified Diploma, which runs from March 16-20, fifteen scholarships for Certified Property Manager (CPM), which is offered March 26-27 and 30 scholarships for Real Estate Certified Training for Brokers, which takes place March 8-9. The Institute’s admissions department, located in DLD ‘s headquarters, is now open to receive applications, with priority being given to young people and new graduates.
The announcement of the DREI programme came after DLD saw a need by real estate companies operating in Dubai and the wider UAE to increase their complement of UAE national employees, subject to the laws and regulations laid down by the Ministry of Labour. The scheme has been aimed at helping companies attract talented Emiratis who understand the local property market environment well.
“We have introduced the DREI scholarship programme in response to the rapid growth of Dubai’s real estate market and a desired requirement to develop a cadre of suitably qualified nationals who will contribute to the sector’s sustainable development,” said Mahmoud Al Burai, Director, DREI. “The Institute’s message is that it is putting the UAE national at the top of its priorities and its plans for the future. We will continue to provide these specialised scholarships every quarter of the year,” he added.
