Facebook goes face down again, users disgruntled
Problems with slow-loading pages, profiles and photos not working on Facebook along with complete timeline outages started to be reported from November 8 in the morning local time around the world and continued on November 9. Users all over Southeast Asia experienced the same issues. This is the second time in a few weeks that Facebook is struggling with technical glitches. The site experienced problems on October 21, when a problem occurred during “routine maintenance”.
Personal and business pages are finding bugs in the social media website. On the pages of many who have reported problems with Facebook being down or not working they have seen the familiar message of Sorry page did not load properly, please try again.
While it’s not entirely clear what has happened to Facebook to cause the pages not to load, it seems the issue is not affecting everyone, but it is happening worldwide.
Furious users took to another social media site, Twitter, to try to find out what was going on.
One user said: “What’s up with all these #Facebook timelines disappearing. The world is ending!!!”
Another, from Singapore, said: “What is wrong with my Facebook. Damn it. People’s timelines don’t load at all?
“Facebook says I no longer exist this morning. I hope this is just a fluke or a glitch in the system. I’d hate to think they know something that I don’t,” another user said.
While Facebook later on November 8 said the issue was resolved, problems were still there.
“Earlier today, we experienced an issue that prevented some people from loading Timeline or Pages content for a brief period of time,” the company said in a statement. “We resolved the issue quickly, and content is back to normal. We’re sorry for any inconvenience we may have caused.”
Meanwhile, users turned to Twitter to express their anger about the defunct social media site:
“#facebookdown currently no update as to when #Pages or #timeline will be back up. This is a #worldwide problem,” a Twitter user said.
