Filipina wins ‘Miss Supranational’ contest
A 21-year old Filipina, Mutya Johanna Datul,won the “Miss Supranational” beauty pageant held in Minsk, Belarus, on September 6, outshining 82 other contestants from all over the world.
The beauty, a computer programming professional turned fashion model from Isabela State University in northern Luzon, also won the Miss Personality award in the pre-pageant held on August 28. She also is Miss Supranational Philippines.
Mutya was deemed by the press as one of the stronger delegates due to her “sweet personality, charming aura and subtle inner strength.”
At the contest, Mexico’s representative was first runner up, while Turkey’s bet landed in second followed by Indonesia and US Virgin Islands in the 3rd and 4th spots.
Mutya will return to the Philippines on September 9, expecting a rousing welcome by her fans.
