IPIC deal with Oman
The International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC) of Abu Dhabi has signed a deal with Oman Oil in which they have agreed to invest in gas, oil and petrochemical projects. WAM, the official UAE news agency, states that ‘This change of expertise and investment has opened routes for strengthening petrochemical plants and refineries.’
Managing director of IPIC, Mr. Khadem al Qubaisi, and the chief executive officer of Oman Oil Company (OOC) signed the agreement and hoped that this step will not only strengthen the existing situation but will also open new path of joint investment collaboration locally and globally.
The influx of cash from IPIC comes at the right time for Oman, this with the GCC aid package $20 billion will not only assist petro-chemical projects but they will create job opportunities for citizens of Oman.
