LinkedIn expands to Singapore

LinkedIn expands to SingaporeAfter finding great success in the domestic market, American company LinkedIn has announced the opening of a new branch in Singapore.  They also expect to expand to Japan shortly.  LinkedIn boasts about 18 million users in the Asia Pacific region, mainly in India and Australia.  Traffic to LinkedIns servers from Asia increased about 132% from March 2010 to March 2011.

The Singapore office will serve to assist customers in India and Australia, and also to generate more business in other Asia Pacific countries.  LinkedIn had mentioned at a tech conference in Beijing that they could be interested in the Chinese market, but “will not jump in and provide something that won’t be successful,” according to the Managing Director and Vice-President for Asia Pacific and Japan.
