Q: Why should travelers choose the Crown Plaza in Doha?
A: There are many reasons for travelers to choose Crowne Plaza Doha. Firstly we are excellently located, just 3 kilometers away from Doha International Airport yet not far from the city center which houses many of the major institutions and companies in Doha. We are one of the newest hotels in the city and our facilities are second to none – we have a 3 level conference center able to cater for functions and events from intimate 25 person meetings to 400 person seminars as well as engagements and weddings. We have a great range of food and beverage outlets including Mediterranean Theater restaurant, outdoor pool lounge and a Brazilian Churrascaria restaurant. However I think one of the main reasons why travelers choose Crown Plaza – and choose to repeat their stay here – is the quality of our facilities and the ‘Make It Happen’ attitude of our people who really go out of their way to go above and beyond guest expectations.

A: The standards are very high in Doha at the moment and are in fact due to get even higher thanks to the forthcoming hotel openings expected over the next few years. We welcome this competition and we intend to match this by simply sticking to what Crowne Plaza does best – providing the best facilities and personalised service. As I mentioned earlier, we have great and ultra-modern facilities including state-of-the-art conference facilities. Much of the incoming travel that comes in to Doha is business travel and our video conference technology, wireless facilities, digital signage etc stands us out from the crowd and makes life that much easier for our business guests.
Q: What do you think makes Qatar a destination worth to visit?
A: At the moment Qatar is really booming as a country and this is very exciting to see. With the forthcoming World Cup in 2022 the pace of change and improvement will only continue. There are numerous cultural attractions including the Islamic Art Museum situated not far from the Crowne Plaza, and Katara which houses some fantastic restaurants. For the business traveller and entrepreneur there are plenty of opportunities here and is a good time to come and experience one of the Gulf’s fastest growing economies.
Q: What is your company doing to attract talent in the hospitality industry in Doha, and what are the challenges in this respect?
A: We always ensure our staff are treated with respect and are given the right tools to be able to do their job to a very high standard. If our staff is not happy then our guests will not be happy, it is as simple as that. We believe that if we stick to this philosophy then we will attract the right talent to Crown Plaza.
