Malaysian firm gets contract for Cambodia airport expansion

PP airportMuhibbah Engineering (M) Bhd and its joint venture partner has secured two contracts valued at $87 million to build and expand two airports in Cambodia.

It said on November 6 that  Societe Concessionnaire de L’Aeroport (SCA) – the joint venture of Muhibbah and Vinci Construction Grands – had secured the projects to build and expand the terminal building and the refurbishment of the Phnom Penh and Siem Reap Airports.

“In view of the rapid growth of airports passengers arrivals over the years and expected increasing trend of airports business, SCA has embarked on this capital expansion program to further extend and upgrade the international airports of Cambodia,” it said.

Muhibbah has a 30 per cent stake in SCA. The duration for the Phnom Penh Airport and Siem Reap Airport is 28 months and 23 months respectively and both are expected to be completed by the end of 2015.
