There are 4 recipients of New York University Abu Dhabi’s second round of research funding, totaling Dh58.8 million in grant monies. The first round awarded Dh73 million towards the study of language and Arabic literature, and towards technological improvements. This newest round will fund studies in computer science, astrophysics, and global warming.
The Abu Dhabi government subsidizes NYUAD’s general operating budget, and the grants will be awarded from this pool. The winners were selected by a vigorous campaign of internal and external peer review and are set to showcase Abu Dhabi as an example of outstanding research and ideas. The grants will be paid out over the course of the next 5 years.
