Ooredoo Myanmar starts trial run in mobile network
Ooredoo Myanmar is preparing to launch its mobile-phone services in the third week of August and has started testing its mobile network, company sources said.
“As we check on the system, the efficiency of our mobile network seems to be better than expected. Now everything is sure to run smoothly. We are collecting data from individuals and contacts in addition to the responses from our representatives. In doing so we will know which areas are needed to improve on. We will start introduce our services in the third quarter of this year and will provide better services,” said said Myint Zaw, Sales Department director of Ooredoo Myanmar.
The company has signed agreements to distribute SIM cards and other mobile products. Ooredoo has appointed six sale agents. The six are Great Ayeyawady, Myanmar Distribution Group, Consumer Group Myanmar, Capital Diamond Star Group, UMG and Myanmar Golden Star.
Ooredoo said that over 1,000 kilometers of fiber have been laid for the backbone network, and the tower roll-out is progressing according to schedule, with all sites supporting co-location.
The launch will begin in Yangon, Mandalay and Naypyitaw, the company said.
