Singapore Paintball Series (SPS), a major paintball competition in Singapore, started in 2008 with six teams, and the number went up to 34 in its competition in 2013. Paintball is also becoming popular with companies that use it for team-building events, the report said.

Paintball is a sport in which players compete to eliminate opponents by tagging them with capsules containing coloured water in a gelatin shell, referred to as paintballs, shot from a device called paintball gun. Paintball was initially designed to complement military training but become increasingly popular as a leisure sport. Major paintball leagues exist in the US and Western Europe.
