Singapore’s FairPrice named ASEAN’s best retail brand

UK-based brand research agency Interbrand released its new list of best retail brand in Southeast Asia on August 7.

Singapore’s homegrown retailer FairPrice which has a range of store formats offering gourmet products, electronics and basic household goods and provides an electronic commerce platform, topped the list of best retail brands in the Southeast Asia region.

Malaysian retailer Parkson, which operates 108 stores across four countries in Asia, came in second.

Third is the Philippines’ SM Supermalls, owned and managed by SM Prime Holdings, a chain of shopping malls in the Philippines with multi-brand retail shops.

Indonesia’s oldest and largest department store Matahari placed fourth, while Thailand’s hypermart brand Big C got the fifth spot.
