UAE tops Saudi for US exportsTrade to and from the United States is at an all-time high in the United Arab Emirates.  For the first year ever, the UAE has replaced Saudi Arabia as the GCC country with the most exports from the United States.  The Kingdom boasted $11.59 billion, while the UAE recorded $11.64 billion in exports.  Overall trade within the GCC region and the US has increased by 21% over last year’s slump, when trade was down almost 48% over the previous period.

The US has a long tradition of trade within the GCC, which accounts for 2.5% of its international trading.  Machinery and transportation equipment account for about 66% of exports to the GCC, with oil being the obvious number one import at 92% of the total.
