Vietnam expects exports to China to reach $15 billion in 2014

34228RB4DJVietnam’s export turnover to China is expected to reach the set target of $15 billion in 2014, assessed the Vietnam Industry and Trade Information Center ( VITIC) under Ministry of Industry and Trade on October 14.

The center said on its website that in the first eight months of 2014, Vietnam’s exports to China posted an increase of 16.43 per cent year-on-year to hit $9.83 billion.

VITIC forecast that in the remaining four months of the year, export turnover to China would maintain at $1.25 billion to $1.3 billion per month, making the $15-billion target feasible.

In the eight-month period, products of agro-fishery-forestry accounted for some 30 per cent of export turnover to China, while mineral products made up around 20 per cent, said VITIC.
