Vietnam, Laos enter cooperation in cyber security, e-government
The governments of Laos and Vietnam agreed to enter a cooperation for the development of cyber security and e-government solutions and continue their cooperation in postal services.
The commitment was made on March 12 between Laos’ Ministry of Post and Telecommunications and Vietnam’s Ministry of Information and Communications, Vientiane Times reported.
Both sides agreed on the cooperation theme of “go together, work together, cooperate and develop together” in order to ensure that future information and communication technology (ICT) cooperation will be effective and practical, and also help to consolidate the special friendly relations between Laos and Vietnam.
Over the past year, the Lao ministry also signed an agreement to work with its Vietnamese counterpart to develop technological innovations and human resources. The two countries have been cooperating in training on spectrum management and monitoring, along with the management of postal services, broadband Internet, cloud computing and social media.
They also cooperated in sharing information, experiences and best practices in e-government development, ICT application development, e-service promotion and digital business opportunities, as well as cooperation between ICT providers, the government and the private sector, according to the report.
